HIEROPHUNK is a QUEER, 2 SPIRIT electronic music producer, DJ, and community catalyst who has spent over TWO decades shaping the sonic landscape of Atlantic Canada.

Based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, she creates a distinct, heavy-hitting blend of club music and ritual-inspired bass. By weaving deep, mythic storytelling into modern electronic production, her work bridges the gap between ancient, primal rhythms and cutting-edge sound design.

Beginning her DJ journey as a teenager, HIEROPHUNK quickly became a pillar of the local scene, notably cementing her presence as a resident DJ at legendary queer bars like reflections & Menz Bar. Her impact, however, extends far beyond traditional nightlife. Driven by a passion for intentional spaces, she co-founded Coastal Vibe Collective during the pandemic to keep underground music alive, and pioneered the region’s sober rave culture as the co-founder of Ecstatic Dance Halifax.

Her innovative production and dedication to the craft have earned her multi-category nominations at both the East Coast Music Awards (ECMA) and Nova Scotia Music Week.

PHUNK IS CURRENTLY RECORDING A FULL LENGTH ALBUM PROJECT with releases coming out on under ocean records AND RUNNING A HALIFAX BASED WAREHOUSE VENUE CALLED STUDIO OBSIDIAN.
